DoPT accepts VR of IAS officer but what is the real reason behind her resignation?

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has formally approved the voluntary retirement (VR) application of IAS officer Anamika Singh, a 2004-batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. But bureaucracy is discussing, what is the real reason behind her resignation. According to sources, Ms Singh had sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Uttar Pradesh Government to proceed on central deputation. However, her request was reportedly denied, leading to dissatisfaction. Moreover, in September 2025, she was appointed as the Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly. However, the transfer order was later cancelled, and she was retained in her existing role as Food Commissioner. The cancellation of her transfer, combined with the refusal of central deputation, is believed to have influenced her decision.
